The Rhino Original VariLayer Medium Weight Turnout is a versatile winter winter rug with VariLayer technology which produces an incredibly warm blanket without excessive weight or bulk. This fully waterproof and breathable winter rug features Horseware’s barrier technology which places a waterproof membrane behind the rugged 1000D polypropylene outer so your waterproofing is less likely to be damaged by daily dirt and abrasions. The VariLayer Technology places the bulk of the blanket’s insulation at the top of the rug, lessening the amount of fill down the sides of the blanket where less heat loss occurs. This allows the rug to trap the bulk of the horse’s body heat without being heavy and bulky like many other turnout rugs.
